Honestly this was one of the most enjoyable essays I’ve read on this site. It’s such a shame that the GAE has spread so much of the American mentality to Europe.

You're a really interesting man Russell :) I find your articles pretty provokativ actually. And that's nice for readers. You've been to many places - that's also great - and your experiences from New Guinea has reminded me J. Diamond's works. I personally feel closer American mindset honestly. What if the family or national heritage you've inherited , you were born to, is broken or doesn't work as good as others? Let's take that Indian guy's life. What he's supposed to do? Accept the fate he was born into and live with it? I think US really gives great opportunities to an individual and that place is one of those rare places on earth that gives a chance to become a self-made man.

There're a lot of flaws with US society but still, I think they're the Rome of modern times and what else a Pakistani or other third world citizen shall do at best? Rather than self-worshipping and self improvement ? Follow some sheiks and keep smelling the stinking carpet at madrasa? It's great US standards gives man such a chance and I happened to know a lot of guy who actually succeeded it while they couldn't even own even the quarter of what they got in their homeland. They've become one of that species you've described above and they've succeeded it. I think it's great and better than getting stuck inside your family or national culture.

There isn't a lot on my behalf to discuss with you actually since we're coming from such a different backgrounds but I used to hear Australians are one of the most conservative colony of Anglos and their devotion to the Kingdom and Empire is undisputed. You kinda vibe me like that :) That's very interesting to me, I don't trying to insult. Don't take it wrong. And keep up with your great work 👏 That's interesting to read your articles and better to listen your podcast. Especially those about discovering new lands and getting contact with indigenouses.

Edit: And ye I'd also sit on a leather coach and talk to a psychologist 😎 rather than a priest, or would be an imam in my case and it's better to be stressed and depressed for your own good rather than for some Middle Eastern tales.
